My next door neighbor swears by a mixture of water and Apple Cider Vinegar sprayed on exposed skin (don't spray it into face, wipe it on). Also, Purple Martins are said to eat prodigious amounts of mosquitoes; I have a faint memory of nesting pairs being credited with eating their weight in mosquitoes every day or two.
