Joe, I agree that Amazon has some decent prices - I often go there first to gather info, read reviews and I use them as a benchmark, but I always find that I can do at least a little better somewhere else if I do the leg work. Here are some of the resources I use:

activebuyersguide.com
techbargains.pricegrabber.com
nexttag.com
amazing-bargains.com
search.com
overstock.com

- there are plenty more sites like bizrate, dealtime, fat wallet, etc. to check out too. The site Joe mentioned, How Stuff Works, is also very helpful and besides educating me a bit it lead me to catalog.belkin.com to help see the full range offered by the manufacturer and easily compare all of the specs.

VERY IMPORTANT
Before I buy anything on the net I always go to
resellerratings.com to check the sellers ratings - this can save a great deal of hassle in the long run.
