The similarities consist of the following: 1) An arrogant attitude. 2) Gap between reality and wishes. 3) Lack of support by the 'liberated' people. 4) A vague agenda. 5) The need for more and more troops, for an indeterminant amount of time. 6) No solid goals. 7) A hawkish DoD that believes we're almost around 'the corner'. We have not yet learned one of the fundamental lessons of democracy: that it, unlike Communism or Fascism, cannot be forced upon a people. They must embrace it as their own idea, in their own way.
