Yes, this is my opinion. I never offered it as 'fact'. In my opinion, this is quickly shaping up as a 'quagmire' that is eerily similar to how we got into Vietnam. Little local support, no firm plan, no definite timeline, no definition of 'victory' or when it would be over, no date to bring the troops home, families worried that their loved ones are in danger from those they are 'freeing', government double-talk about how things are not as bad as they appear, administration chastizing the media for reporting what is going on, etc.

Now, reports from Senators from both sides of the aisle who have visited Iraq that the administration is not coming clean as to the real situation and the amount of time/effort/cost that will go into rebuilding Iraq and getting out.

Deja vu all over again.
