You don't recall it because it was clear that Hitler was killed in Berlin. If weeks and months had passed without proof of his death, you would certainly have heard 'Where's Hitler?', as now you hear "Where's Saddam (and Osama, etc)?"

The Ox Bow Incident is also a book (I recommended the movie as it is more readily available, but liked the book better). It is an analogy of how man's thirst for instant justice can go awray. I used it as an analogy to McCarthy's war on justice and the Constitution.

So, you villify Clinton and admire McCarthy? Is that the current state of conservative thought? If so, I think Bush's reelection hopes are dimming....
