Enron + Cronies had everyone fooled, as I said, including the federal government which has no regulatory body overseeing the oil and energy business. The Petroleum Institute is supposed to be the non-partisan voluntary watchdog, but in 2000 they were anything but non-partisan. They were in the hands of Bush and especially Cheney. That's scary because when they want to screw us unilaterally, the energy cartel can, and has now proven they will. Time to start regulating the energy business in a much more forceful way. Kerry has the kind of courage needed to stand up to that huge special interest.
