John, your answer is completely disingenuous. To my knowledge (please chime in others if I am wrong) you have never had a discourse on this thread that suggested you were participating in order to learn. You have consistently and repeatedly stated your position why QCOM is not a good investment at the current or similar valuations. You have disparaged the company's management, their financial reporting and quite frankly and perhaps indirectly, their technology. Your position is absolutely clear and strongly held. You may be right and you may be wrong. But to suggest that you are throwing barbs and arrows at the QCOM bulls has anything to do with some investment you might have in some other company. Give me a break. You participate because you enjoy it, because you are bored and perhaps you like to yank a few people's chains now and then. All valid reasons, but you should be honest enough to admit it.

John, Re: "If I decide that XYZ Technologies is a better investment than QCOM and put my money in XYZ, I still have a vested interest in QCOM!" Agreed, providing that XYZ is in some way a competitor/ potential competitor of Qualcomm. Is that the case here? If XYZ were a biotech, would you still have a "vested" interest in QCOM?

From my observation over the last few years, following one industry and a few companies in that industry is a full time job. I really don’t have the time to devote to other activities that aren’t productive to my & my families well being. How is spending so much time on this thread disparaging Qualcomm productive to you? Are you just an altruistic sort?

Along that line, sometime back I believe you mentioned you had previously provided a list of better long term investment alternatives than Qualcomm (publicly traded companies) . I hadn't recalled seeing such list and kindly asked for you to repost such. Have you done so yet, and if so would you kindly provide the link?

TIA- jim
