Arnlea Systems and SAMSys Technologies enter into VAR collaboration

RFID Technology Solves Identification and Tracking Challenges in Heavy
Industries

TORONTO, July 8 /CNW/ - SAMSys Technologies Inc. (SMY:TSX-VEN)
("SAMSys"), a world leading provider of radio frequency identification (RFID)
hardware solutions and RFID integration consulting services, today announced
that it has signed a value added reseller (VAR) agreement with Arnlea Systems,
a global provider of innovative asset control and data capture solutions to
local and multi-national companies in the Oil & Gas, PetroChemical, Pulp &
Paper and Utilities industry sectors.
Under this agreement, Arnlea will use SAMSys' RFID reader technology to
complement Arnlea's own handheld and Intrinsically Safe RFID products for
implementation in asset identification, control, and tracking solutions.
Arnlea Systems, a pioneer in the application of RFID in the Oil & Gas
industry, specialises in the design and application of "fit for purpose" RFID,
wireless, handheld PDA computer, and software technologies to solve problems
related to the identification, movement, inspection, certification,
maintenance and repair of tools, equipment and containers, as well as
personnel safety. Arnlea's proven PaperlessServices solutions support both
barcode and RFID technologies for total asset identification flexibility,
linking with SAP and other leading management systems to record accurate asset
information. These solutions are currently used to identify drill pipe, gas
cylinders, rolling stock, and process equipment, amongst others.
Kevin Boyd, Arnlea's Operations Director comments, "The addition of
SAMSys products into our growing RFID solutions portfolio ensures we continue
to provide the flexibility and value demanded by our growing customer base to
achieve their specific business needs."
SAMSys offers a selection of reader solutions including standard
frequency-specific modules, custom-made application specific reader systems,
and OEM modules to provide tailored solutions for a wide variety of supply
chain management, logistics management, and tracking and fulfillment
applications. In addition to providing reader solutions, SAMSys offers
consulting services that focus on the front-end of the RFID implementation
process.
"The combination of SAMSys products with Arnlea's proven experience
applying RFID in heavy industries such as Oil & Gas offers compelling benefits
to asset managers where reliable knowledge of field assets and accurate asset
information is essential to improve asset control and streamline
productivity," says Cliff Horwitz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
SAMSys.
SAMSys' comprehensive line of RFID readers spans low frequency, high
frequency and UHF and supports a very broad range of protocols. The readers
are available in a wide range of form factors, including: packaged and ready
to use low power, multi-protocol readers; high power, multi-protocol readers
for demanding applications; networked reader solutions for complex, multi-
reader applications; smart shelves; modules for integration into OEM products;
RFID reader networking tools for TCP/IP connectivity; and dual frequency
readers at 125KHz/13.56MHz and 134KHz/13.56 MHz.
