In the wake of Jayson Blair, I doubt the Post is going to be sloppy about sources...

If the NY Times can be fooled so can the Wash Post. Doesn't happen very often but here are the facts:

1) If Lay were on the board it would only be because Heinz has no power to fire him. She wouldn't let Lay ten miles from the Kerry world, especially after he started running for prez.

2) If Lay were in boards in the past, big deal. Lay's guilt was not known until 2001. Heinz was a major Republican util recently. So makes even more sense Lay might have been on a board. And Kerry does p[lenty of business with Republicans. One of his best buddis is John McCain. An honest Republican.

3) If Lay is still on a board the Kerry campaign is lying to me, I will have it out with them big-time. I will be plenty pissed. But I trust they are totally honest and not that stupid. Because I know them. They speak the truth. They dont even spin.
