History is going to say that our reasons for attacking Iraq in 2003, were no better than Germany's reasons for attacking Poland in 1939. In both cases, the aggressive power invented a threadbare excuse, pretending that the victim was at fault. Add Arthur Schlesinger to the short list of couragous Americans, who see the implications of our present foreign policy.

I would add, that "preventive war" is just a fancy name for "war of aggression".
