You know, Westi...Some of my best 4th of July memories are with my family and Grandparents at their farm...picking fresh raspberries, and having them on the homemade icecream my Grandad let me help "make" ....He said if "you are really good, I'll let you stir the handle"....(of the old fashioned icecream maker...) We kids thought it was so special to just have a picnic in the front yard, have koolaid from a BIG tub and with a BIG block of ice in it...(they mixed raspberry and orange for us..my fav)... We all got to have sparklers, and of course everyone had flags. Then when it was dark, my dad and uncle set off the fireworks they had collected. Grand day!
