I heard Davis lay out a very rational, balanced scenario for balancing the budget. A compromise plan that shjould be worked on and passed ASAP. A temporary car tax is no big deal. Pete Wilson had the same tax which anti-Davis folks are crying about now.

Just a fact of life. You cant pay off debts by lowering revenues. And you cant sustain California's quality of living by throwing more people off health care and giving them poor educations. It's a very difficult situation. Made twice as bad by the Texas energy ripoffs.

Davis has been hard at work at it and has offered compromises with the GOP. Both sides should come togeher and solve this instead of waging political power plays when we need their full attention on this. We also need a new president because Bush-Cheney have been shafting California since Day 1. Bush-Cheney have also kept California from being reimbursed billions owed to them by their energy thief cronies. About 10 billion worth of PROVEN ripoffs.
