Interesting.... I also know of hedge funds that are forced to buy equities lately in an attempt to keep up for fear of underperforming the S&P, etc.

As for bonds, could be... JMO on that... I know lot's of people who think the Fed will start bidding for long bonds.
I also hear of lot's of money going into Junk bonds that's for sure. I also hear FNM and FRE have been forced to buy treasuries to balance their portfolio, which would be longer dated stuff as well. This is on top of many players afraid to short the long end either for spec OR for duration hedging [FNM, FRE too] due to buy back rumors. Looks like some of that fear may be subsiding now I suppose.

I have been shorting some S&P, so I hope you're right about end of quarter :)
