If not the the energy ripoffs, which I'm sorry but Davis could not have stopped without psychic pre-cognitive powers, California debt would be half of what it is now, much more management and about on par with Texas

For someone who is a political junkie, you are either ignorant of budget matters, bond sales etc. or you choose to obfuscate. Which is it?

I'll speak slowly here. The bonds, $11.5 billion worth, that were sold to replace the funds the state purchased electricity with will be paid for by INCREASED RATE-PAYERS REVENUES (bigger electricity bills) not by general fund revenues (taxes of all stripes). So they're "off the books" and the money has been replaced by their sale..........and the deficit is still $30 to 38 billion. What's up with the fake Davis recall petitions. Dirty tricks, Joe.

Joe's popularity is around 25%, even a third of the Dems dis-own him. But he is not the biggest problem. That would be the clueless Democratic state senators and assemblycritters who think you can solve over-spending by more taxation. There is no crisis in cutting the budget, that is the ANSWER.
