No, 895,000 are necessary and about 360,000 are collected. And some of those will be thrown out if they dont check out. So the right-wingers want to get 1.2 million because they estimate 25% oculd get thrown out.

The 360,000 represents the far rightwing types who hate Davis the most. They will have a hard time getting many more signatures from anyone who's moderate, fair, or who doesn't want to see California turned upside down in the middle of a difficult period. I predict there woint even be a recall, of if there is, it will be next year and Davis will win. If he doesn't believe he'll win, he'll resign and let Bustamante take his place, a nightmare for the GOP who are trying to trick Hispanics into voting for them. A say "trick" because their policies are not exactly Hispanic-friendly.
