<OK, so whats the best course to prevent WMD from being deployed?>

A strict respect for other nation's sovereignty is the best way to prevent foreign nations from deploying WMD. There are precedents here. South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, all gave up nuclear weapons development programs, because they didn't feel threatened. They decided they didn't need those weapons to defend themselves.

By contrast, N. Korea and Iran are going flat-out to develop nuclear weapons, precisely because they are threatened by the U.S. Without that threat, without our longterm, and recently escalating, threat to their sovereignty, they would have no reason to develop nuclear weapons.

Does anybody know what Iran would do if it did have atomic weapons? I know they've talked about nuking Israel but how would that help the Palestinians? Radioactive fallout doesn't care what religion you are.
