Both major parties do their best to get people emotionally involved in a few issues, and then do most of their doo-doo while their constituents are wrestling with the emotional issues and can't see or don't care what the Big Boys are doing. The same garbage/manipulation happens in other countries, so it's not unique to this one. That's just what they do. Misdirection and disinformation.
