The "increase of pollution" is another major left wing propaganda Big Lie (this one taking in "Blowhard Bill O'Really" who's middle-age male menopause apparently makes him nostalgic for his foolish left wing youth).

As the Wall Street Journal points out in it's Friday edition, the air has been getting cleaner, and America getting greener, for decades. The only serious pollution is the insane rhetoric of the anti-humanity left, who consider economic growth, the private sector, and individual liberty to be the real pollution-rather than anything in the air or water...

It's funny how the right wingers then point to successes in cleaner air etc as proof that they aren't anti-environment. As they fight to ruin the environment, they also claim credit for the environmental victories of the left. Boy, they are honing hypocracy to a fine art.
