Seems like you've had better luck with Comcast - (via old ATT).

What happens is that the Motorola modem Activity LED just stops indicating that no data getting through. I can't figure it out. I've tried hooking up another computer and it's fine. So I figured it's something with Windows.

When I call ATT (admit I haven't called Comcast yet but I will per your suggestion), they gave me the usual stuff to do (re boot, unplug the modem, clear cache, do windows connection). None of these provide more than a temporary fix. The connection is always fine once I re-boot.
