You may well be right, that her tone has taken a turn for the worse over the past several years.

I think Brooks was right in his column last month about the increase in the Left's bitterness. It is showing up in the columns. The right, on the other hand, is getting too triumphal.

The only reason folk attack Dowd is because she is so influential. Who would care if very few read her.

The current Dowd situation is all about the NYT and their credibility. She has zero influence without the NYT.

Dowd has just become another one of a lengthening list of NY Time's reporters who have been allowed to race out of control and report dishonestly.

I was impressed by the recent post here about a Texas newspaper that carried her column. I judged that to be providing a forum for all sides...I was even more impressed when they dropped her for dishonest reporting.

Dowd is doing what she can to make a living. The NYT is the real culprit imo.

She used to be a good writer. Then her hatreds began to get the better of her....
