I have not seen the film.

I recommend it. Wintle personally believed there never was a "WW2". There was only one World War, just that the intervening time.. 1918 to 1939, gave the enemy an opportunity to regroup. He was a professional soldier, wishing to do his job and his duty as best he saw fit. An understandable POV. He also had other problems he tried to deal with too.

After watching the British government at work over the last year, I can't help thinking a couple of fully armed squadrons of Wintles would be of great benefit to the nation once again.

So, back to WW1, we have the Treaty of Versailles at it's conclusion, where the German nation was trodden underfoot, followed by a policy of appeasement when the inevitable backlash occurred. If the allies has reversed their attitudes and methods, maybe WW2 could have been averted.

I do not see Britain and the USA helping Iraq become a nation again as yet. I found this piece of news disturbing..
