If you live in an apartment in the city, it's definitely more economical to get a plasma screen! The plasma screen saves 6-10 sq ft of useable living space over a projection tv. That translates to $3000 to $5000 in Boston's real estate price.

In considering Plasma monitors make sure they can display a 1080i high def content. Many of the ones Costco, Gateway, etc carry are only 720p ready. You will be disapointed later as more and more channels are going HD. It is very much worth it.

Check out the 42" plasma by Viewsonic...

I haven't seen it myself but their LCDs and CRTs are tops!
