I don't have a chronological sequence of Woody Allen films straight in my head to I don't have a take on development. I sure have enjoyed "Manhattan" and "Love and Death" and at least parts of a lot of other films. The immediate texture is often so funny that you can just drop in and out of many of them.

Different topic altogether: I do not make any special effort to watch "The Simpsons" but it was pretty funny to see a cartoon version of someone whom I actually know slightly (former poet laureate Pinsky) turn up on one of those.

Were you a Katharine Hepburn fan?

I still have an almost 25 year old VHS of "Last Summer", the movie where her and the boys smoke some weed and get all lathered up. <g> Barbara is one my favorites also.

Which Woody Allen movie had a cello in a marching band!? I got to see it.

BTW, I think Allen is god.
