Have you forgotten that Russia also invaded Poland and had a nonaggression pact with Germany at the beginning of the war? Germany and Russia split Poland. Russia might have thought that was just returning to the way things were in the past as Russia has controlled Poland before. But Stalin was surprised and unprepared when Germany attacked Russia. Let's not make another criminal country into heroes. it's just not true. Stalin was a murderer of his own people on a massive scale, worse than Hitler. I don't know why we didn't let Germany finish off Russia instead of helping them with lend/lease war supplies, massive loans, and eventually a two front war. A hero without a gun is a dead hero. But it's more like a desperate comrade who would be shot by his own officers if he didn't fight.
