So you still think discussing politics is all about showing your muscles, Mike. And insulting posters is a way to talk about politics. John, If that is flexing muscles...then I am guilty as charged. So what! The issues are thus imho...With few exceptions, you are opposed to everything. The recent exceptions are medicaid, sodomy and Maureen Dowdry. So what! I disagree...so what! This is a big world...The problems we are now confronted with are much larger than a few pundits trite columns. And much larger than the freedom to commit sodomy. John it is time for Americans to look deeply within themselves and our founding values and then to look even deeper outside themselves...It is time to evaluate ourselves according to our history. John, like it or not, we are in a fight...a major league fight. This fight has barely started. It has decades more to run. We did not start it...but we must finish it and we must finsh it as victors. It ain't gonna be easy. And Americans are not going to elect a man who participated in peace demonstrations in Wash DC to lead us in battle. America will not elect any other weak minded sissy either. War is difficult at best. Strong and compelling leadership is essential and we are going to continue to have it. If the demos want that leadership position they need to find a fighter...this is no time for a peacenik. We have been here before. Whether you and I are a willing to fight to preserve our heritage is likely to, once again, become an issue. I know that this is absolutely beyond your grasp right now...I predict you will appreciate this thinking more before long. The political discussions you so favor...the discussions of Clinton's abuse of women, the Supreme Court sodomy decision and medicaid are in danger of becoming irrelevant. John, like many Americans you have an aversion to those willing to fight. You should consider a study of how we got to this great position of freedom. A tour of America's great battlefields may be a good start. Our history is to take the fight to our adversaries...That is to keep your wife and kids safe in their home. You may not be willing to fight...but you should respect the opinions of other Americans who have or are willing to fight for your freedoms. You need them. You did not create your own freedom...They made you free. You turned down my offer of a beer and more discussion...I'll leave it on the table for later. unclewest
