I've been quite busy and devote only a small fraction of time to this thread lately.

I see why I didn't make the connection. You were marking the post as if it were primarily about the war, but it was really about elections and how Bush used the war as a distracting device in the elections. I was stating that his next October surprise will have to be even more dramatic. You made it seem as if I was referring to some sort of distraction over losing the war and I couldn't recall making such an assertion, but what I was really referring to was using the war to distract from the fact that he really lost the election and needed to divert attention away from the Univ. Chicago final recount.

I hope you're not planning on springing this up out of context some time later. Why not bookmark this explanation with it.
