If passion were all it took, they would have what they want by now. What they need is power. Power is usually achieved by numbers, which they don't have and which they will have less of as their needs continue to be met without the coup de grace of marriage. Of course, there are other kinds of power and they might find it elsewhere. I'm ambivalent on the marriage thing. I'm finding it interesting to watch because the true believers on both sides are such characters, but I don't have an investment in the outcome.
