So john if you were a member of sds in the sixties would your kids be more likely to become born again christians because they both look at the world in absolute terms? We are beating a dead horse and its not a great issue--I just found the segway from trots to necon ludicrous in extremis. mike

PS and since i am not european i have no plans to retire--see democraphics article i posted earlier--so i wont be reading trotsky anytime soon.

Explain this factoid. Trotsky was killed in 1940. Post WW2 Stalin was still being lionized by many on the left. Criticism of american fp back then, was that it was unnecessarily provocative and that was part of the Henry Wallace argument. Now the left says the same thing vis a vis Saddam who always reminded me a hell of lot like Uncle Joe. Only difference is that Saddam hasnt fooled the left here like stalin did, but you would never know it sometimes by how they vilify Uncle Sam. mike
