I'm not convinced that Bush has any culpability in 9/11. I think he is responsible for not addressing the energy crisis, for political reasons. I think he was deceived about Iraq, but must still bear the responsibility. The economy is all his responsibility; so much of economic activity is business and consumer confidence, and his policies are obviously not getting any traction in that area.

However, I do not believe that Bush will lose. I believe that his war chest, which will probably reach $200m, will overwhelm any Demo candidate. I do not believe Americans will get the full story on the above issues until after the election. Remember in '72, Watergate was breaking, but people ignored it and voted for Nixon anyway.

On the media, do not underestimate the strength of the right wing media. They chant certain mantras, sometimes with absolutely no basis in fact, and the lemmings chant back. They have a strong hold on the right wing. Many were so traumatized by 9/11 that they relinquished their ability to think for themselves; e.g. Dennis Miller. They are like dazed combat soldiers who will follow without question.
