Andy, I think Clinton was crooked but smart (about political stuff, not his personal life) while Bush is crooked but dumb. But, I agree about demonization. It's like poor old Hoover. He didn't cause the Depression, but he sure couldn't handle it when it happened. Bush didn't cause the terrorist attacks, but his security measures sure made it easier to be accomplished and his response has been misdirected, in many cases. And he didn't ignite the economic problems, he just poured gasoline on a small flame. Greenspan is the guy with the Zippo.
