Yes, I see that P/C ratios were above 90% for most of the day. cboe.com Just when we thought the market had already discounted robust 2nd half growth, which from early indications was not a certainty. Still, I think there may be some good fundamental news driving (pardon the pun) the HDD industry outperformance when Maxtor and Western Digital are both up over 13% on the day and MXO is up 35% over the past week. I've heard various reports about ASPs holding up fairly well and margins expected to improve now that the disk drive industry has consolidated. If PVRs (personal video recorders) like Tivo ever become mainstream consumer appliances, they could create significant HDD demand, as busy people need to time-shift their favorite TV shows to when it is convenient for them to view.
