That is why we call it an economic cycle. Even if the president then were not Clinton, but Bush senior, the recession would come anyway. So what Bush said is utter nonsense

Deutsche Bank comments on Auto companies

Deutsche Bank said to take advantage of recent rally in auto shares. Said demand trends are not as positive as they appear and mix is unlikely to benefit bottom line. Sees Fair Value for GM at $24 a share, F at $5 a share.
