% of GDP matters not, when compared with the absolute numbers:

The projected $400 BILLION deficit will exceed the TOTAL NATIONAL DEBT OF THIS COUNTRY FROM ITS BIRTH TO 1970.

It will also exceed the TOTAL SPENT BY THE US DURING WORLD WAR II.

The per capita debt will reach $30,000 FOR EACH PERSON IN THE US (it was about $1000 at the end of WWII).

The debt and deficit numbers DWARF any other period in US history. It is a crisis that will have implications for many years to come.

WE WILL SOON BE SPENDING $500 BILLION A YEAR IN INTEREST ON THE NATIONAL DEBT.

If these numbers don't stagger you, then you are not paying attention.
