But Kerry has not crystallized a message that has defined his candidacy as sharply as Gephardt's promise to provide universal health care, or Dean's pledge to represent "the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party."

Seems Kerry's, "Ima Nam Vet" isn't quite enough of a line to occupy free government quarters on Pennsylvania Avenue.

I would bet the winner will be the first one who can articulate a positive vision for America.

Yep, Brownstein again. I keep hearing little murmurs of a Kerry/Wesley Clark ticket. Makes one think.
