YES, it appears that IF we want to do this job RIGHT we are gonna be in there a long time, probably 3-5 years. How long have we been in Bosnia now? Frankly, IF SUCCESSFUL I think there is far more POTENTIAL benefits in a Westernized Democracy in the Middle East then screwing around in Bosnia etc. In any event, we wont be out of Iraq before the 2004 elections and the American Public will have their opportunity to VOTE as to whether they feel Bush did the right thing or not. At this point I think he did, in fact, while this probably wont happen and would probably be unpopular, I think we need to INCREASE or forces their to INSURE security. Otherwise we better get a RELIABLE Iraqi security force trained PDQ to cut down on our casualties.

There is no question we need more troops in Iraq in spite of what Rumsfeld says. Part of that need will be satisfied with some of the foreign troops going into Iraq. The rest of that need will have to be met by more American troops. The financial cost of both will be borne by the US, meaning we taxpayers.

Its expensive playing policeman to the world. I, for one, don't think its worth it. I hope others feel the same way in November, 2004.
