Michael, I posted this to Joan & you. Would you be able to answer this question?

<<Joan, an investment question for you and/or KT.
My youngest daughter is a teacher in south FL. She has to make a decision on her 403b. The school board is only offering the family of Fidelity funds. I thought you could have "self-directed" 403b's, 401k's, and IRA's. No one at the school board, even the investment director can answer her question. I was always under the impression that they could be (self-directed), however, it's something they don't like to advertise because of their relationship/contract the employer has with its chosen investment firm.
Any help would be appreciated,
Bill/WA >>

Thanks for any opinion,
Bill/WA

KT, do you know the answer to this? Can I open an account with SB in Toronto and be less likely to have my account "impounded?"
