Thanks for the article, Bill. Yes, he's my kind of guy. And using my kind of arguments. I haven't kept very close track of the alternative prescription drug plans put forth by the House and the Senate. So I don't know these kinds of details.

If this guy is correct, the House bill is a nonstarter, at least the portion of forcing medicare recipients into private plans to get prescription drugs. That provision won't pass the senate. It's also a lot clearer that the House version is either as this guy claims, a stalking horse for privatization, or simply a completely cynical attempt to take the issue away from the Dems. As opposed to the Senate bill, which is only a half-assed one, I gather. That is it might actually do some good. Not much, but some, so I gather from some comments I've read.

I still read this as Rove trying to take away election issues. So, as I said above, I can't get all worked up over the policy stuff. Just sad that American politics has come to this.
