3 - Berlusconi has lost. Not mentioned in the NYT article: the original criticism of MP Schulz which Berlusconi had reacted to had been a remark by one of Berlusconi's ministers (Umberto Bossi): the problem of refugee ships traveling to Italy might be solved by shooting at them.

Taking advantage of the momentarily functional SI search facility, I'd point out that Godwin has been brought up a time or two here, siliconinvestor.com If you cruise around there a bit, you'll discover that the local demonstrators don't much like it when their demonstrations are pointed out. I have to note, though, that demonstrations seem to have tailed off of late, when I first did this particular check, an SI this-subject-only search on the h-word, siliconinvestor.com , would only go back three weeks before hitting the 80-odd post limit; now it goes all the way back to April 15! Progress! My favorite ref is Godwin on Godwin, wired.com
