Where the right feels uncomfortable about war is when it is in violation of Duty, Honor and Country, not Liberty, Equality and Brotherhood.

The only place I feel uncomfortable about war is when I lose one. ...I suspect I am not alone in this but I cannot prove it based on any Poll results.

Carl,
It is obvious that I am very simpatico with you when it comes to military history and analysis.

BUT. Long nights and heated discussions would be required for us to close the gap on our perception of the "left" and the "right". I am experiencing great resistance to your parent/child characterization. It's too simplistic and the groups are too dynamic. And Carl, it's too paternalistic!

If I look at how I voted since 1964 I have run the gamut from Republican to Democrat and all shades in between! I supported McCarthy then voted for Nixon. Voted for Reagan and Bush 1. Voted for Kean and Courter but not Whitman in New Jersey.

Nice effort and write up. But things are not that neat. Good luck while you are gone.
I'll hold down the fort. Bring 'em on!
