This remark makes no sense. We spent 12 years trying to get Saddam to comply with the UN requirements. There was a will, but there was no way. The present situation in Iraq proves eminently how wrong you and bush are. In fact today we can clearly conclude that containment did work for 12 years and we did not have to get into this morass. Ultimately, his forceful removal was necessary. And it is now clear to most people that his removal was a catalyst for postive change in the region that may accomplish the one thing you droned on about for months -- a resolution to the Palestinian crisis. This is the ultimate administration lie. If the first purpose loses its credibility, change the subject and enough people will buy your new story because not buying it means they have to admit they were wrong in the first place. I think it's been called cognitive dissonance. Another word for it is embarassed denial. Furthermore, if the purpose was to solve the Palestine/Israel situation, then the administration deceived Congress and the American people beyond the intel lies about WMD. Al
