Is it coming in via Roadrunner?

You can change Windoes settings to make it impossible for that particular thing to come in. I found out how to do it by running a Google search on terms like "windows settings" and "popup."

I am at the beach on an old laptop and can't remember how I did it but it stopped that thing. You might also get info on the MSFT site.

Ask around elsewhere--someone knows better than I do--all I know is I did get rid of it.

I use this one. It has handled almost all of those types of problems for me...

depends if it imbeded itself into windows or not. I got one and never bothered to get rid of it. You can go into directory find program and delete it.

1) excellent & inexpensive ad block I use which also looks for and kills spyware: adsgone.com - frequent updates and you just pay one time

2) this is a must, and it's free -- I run it once a week -- Ad-aware, from lavasoft lavasoft.de It finds spybots, tracking cookies, registry entries, etc., and allows you to delete or quarantine them (if you aren't sure).

Chances are luc that you have a program running which is piping in ads for you (they can pop up ads when you surf). If you run a firewall such as Zonealarm (free for basic version) then you will get a message when spyware tries to connect to the internet the first time. You can also block jerk programs like RealOne from constantly connecting, etc.
