That's Why I Think It Is Important Distinguish between "catastrophic global depression" and "the world being economically challenged" I've said this before and I still think it is true. Even when the economic situation in this country is at its worst I doubt that the standard of living here will decline to that in which 75% of the world's people currently live. Financial resources can play a significant role in removing pain from people's lives. That's why they should not be wasted. But it should be equally clear that happiness is neither attained by removing pain, nor is it precluded by its presence.
