The problem I have with those guys back in the 50's is when they were asked, "Are you a member of the Communist Party?,'" they wouldn't answer. Some would plead the 5th Amendment. Why?? If they were a member of the Communist Party, fine, admit it. Its legal to join any Political Party, But------admit it. They would not admit that they were Communists, which gave the perception of secrecy, and plotting, and danger to the U.S at a very scary time in our history.

The Rosenbergs sold Atomic Bomb secrets to the Soviets, they were Communists and were justly executed. Los Alomos and the whole Manhatten Project was infested with Communists. That was all becoming public knowledge in the early to mid 1950's. It was scary stuff to a public just off the horrors of WWII.
