Senator says there's some progress in search for weapons

Capitol Hill-AP -- The chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee says some progress is being made in the search for Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction.

Senator Pat Roberts says he can't provide any details because the information is classified. But he told reporters that every day, people come forward with more information about Iraq's clandestine weapons program. Still, he stressed, its going to take time because "the program was designed to be hidden."

Roberts was part of a group of senators that's just back from a whirlwind tour of Iraq. Senate Armed Services Chairman John Warner says the delegation was given classified information that would lead anyone to conclude that the weapons did exist.

But Michigan Senator Carl Levin says nothing he saw changed his view that the pre-war intelligence about weapons programs was exaggerated.
