Electric & Gas Technology, Inc. Will Use Legal Action Against Companies Infringing Upon WATERMAKER(TM) Patents
Tuesday July 1, 6:49 pm ET
DALLAS, July 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ELGT will pursue legal action against companies that have allegedly infringed upon subsidiary Atmospheric Water Technology's Watermaker patents.
"We will be using the strength of the company and all of our resources to defend our patents," says S. Mort Zimmerman, Board Chairman of ELTG. He continues, "Our patents on the Watermaker technology are solid and companies are trying to take advantage of our technology. Legal action will be taken with multiple companies and each one will be held liable for promoting technology that they do not own." According to Dan Zimmerman, President of ELGT, "This latest patent infringement will have a domino effect in the industry." Zimmerman says, "There are distributors, government officials, and major corporations that have been misled by these companies promoting a technology they do not own. When the legal battles are over customers that have purchased systems are going to be left exposed for working with companies who have infringed on products that will not be supported or sold again." Zimmerman continues, "These companies' customers have made huge investments and will be hurt because they purchased a technology from a company who infringed on ELGT's patents. We are willing to fight this patent infringement to the very end."
The Watermaker is a technology that captures the humidity from the atmosphere to produce purified drinking water. This system can provide from five gallons per day to over 1,000,000 gallons per day.
WATERMAKER(TM) is a unique electronic system that produces clean water without connection to any source of water other than that suspended as vapor in the atmosphere. The ELGT Watermaker technology originated through the issuance and receipt of U.S. Patents in 1981 and 1996, and is further supported through two additional patents pending and copyrights. The scaleable technology produces from 5 to 10,000 gallons of pure water per day. Large metropolitan solutions can produce up to 2,000,000 gallons per day, and when installed with an automatic bottling facility, will produce 3,780,000 two-liter bottles per day, utilizing only electricity. The systems can be fabricated and installed in 90 to 120 days.
Electric & Gas Technology, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: ELGT - News; ELGT) was organized under the laws of the State of Texas on March 18, 1985, to serve as a holding company for several operating subsidiary businesses. Atmospheric Water Technology, Inc. (AWT), a subsidiary of ELGT, was incorporated in June 1997, with the purpose of focusing on opportunities within the water industry. Other ELGT businesses include Reynolds Equipment Company, which provides a broad line of precision instrumentation to the natural gas industry; Hydel, Ltd., a designer and seller of meter sockets and pole line hardware to the electric utility industry; and Logic Metals, Inc., an affiliated manufacturer of precision sheet metal applications.
ELGT owns several U.S. Patents and Copyrights and has two U.S. Patents pending. Through its Research and Development division, headed by ELGT CEO and Chief Engineer, S. Mort Zimmerman, scientific projects relating to ultra purification of drinking water and a system using hydrogen peroxide to generate electric power have been developed. ELGT holds patents relating primarily to its Atmospheric Water Technology, Inc. subsidiary, building products that produce healthy purified drinking water "from the air we breathe."

"Our patent attorneys, the Law Offices of Brian M. A true copy of this Legal Letter sent from the attorneys to Mr. Morton Zimmerman, at Electric and Gas Technology, Inc., establishing the infringement, and advising a cease and desist notification, will be published today on our company's web site."
