I prefer naked self interest unadorned.

The million killed were mostly killed with our approval- and they were killed during the Iran/Iraq conflict- which was sealed with a kiss from the US. We also stood by and watched the slaughter of the Kurds for years- I know, because I wrote letters about it. I think you would be wise to understand where the corpses come from, before you have them raise their bony arms in favor of a US occupation. You need to recount your dead, imo.

I think the body count in Africa is greater, as is the refugee count- and it is all much more immediate- these are recently killed men, women and children- and much of the continent is in turmoil. Yes, it's bigger, but the world would probably work with us on Africa. I think working with the world, as opposed to against it matters, since it sets the tone for the future.

There probably isn't much point in going further with this. You can have the last word- whatever it is, I probably disagree with it.
