Bill Maher spoofs Bush's air-craft carrier speech in his July 19th HBO special. He parachutes in, poses as a pilot then makes a speech to the sailors about what we are really fighting for. "My publicity and re-election". He's right on the money, but forgets oil and defense contracts for Bushie insiders.

As I understand, they delayed the arrival for Bush. That must have cost a pretty penny, even without whatever extra the landing cost. Running one of those huge ships must cost a million or more a day. I heard it would have been a day early into port, but they delayed it for the photo-op, and now claim it wasn't late (but they prevented it from being early). Wonder why, in this economy, more aren't making a stink about it. Guess they're saving it for the campaign...
