Davis did not interfere with the GOP primary, he knew he was going to have to run against one of two men and he focused on the only one who could beat him. Same thing the GOP is doing now to Kerry. Although the prez race hasn't really got going, notice how the Bushies rarely if ever attack anyone but Kerry. Same thing. Just politics. It was the GOP in California who blew it by voting stupidly for the inexperienced right-wing corporats stooge and not the experienced and trusted moderate Riordan.
