You're wrong, Lazarus. Everyone wants to live in California. And taxes are going up in all those other states you mention too. Nevada, Oregon have terrible deficits now. 49 out of 50 states I think have big deficits now, because at the heart of it, the federal government is broke, cutting taxes and passing along the burden.

California could actually afford to lose a few million people anyway. It's getting too crowded here and real estate prices are the highest in the nation. But what company wants to move to the Utah desert? Wont attract many quality employees there.

California's special problem was getting hit by the Texas energy thieves. That was not Davis's fault. By the time anyone figured it out, it was too late. The stealthy massive robbery had already taken place. He's been suing for years to get reimbursed, but the Bush guys are stonewalling Davis. Read the sacremento Bee's energy crisis archives and please educate yourself.

This time the GOP is on the side of the crooks. Some law and order party huh? You need to wake up and smell the coffee. This is all obvious stuff.
