Sorry, KLP, but hatred of the government in normal times is usually a matter of conservative dogma, nothing "liberal" about it. The true believers are constructing some kind of weird straw man with all this "conspiracy" garbage. I've never heard a propaganda campaign described as a "conspiracy" until the last month or so.

Rummy knew what he wanted, and knew how to get it. Truth is the first casualty.

It is rather incredible. People who think Rumsfeld could ride into town and, with a few allies, dictate what the bureaucracy is willing to sign, especially without leaking immensely to the media, don't understand Washington very well.

You and your stupid "conspiracy" theory. It was a propaganda campaign. A conspiracy is something else, not particularly related. Conspiracies that work are fairly rare, but propaganda campaigns often do quite well.
